A Slideshow Presentation by Marti Kheel

This slide show provided a history of patriarchal attitudes towards women and nonhuman animals in art, religion, and mythology.  The show also highlighted the parallels between the objectification, exploitation, and abuse of women and nonhuman animals in contemporary society, from their role in pornographic media to the vivisection laboratory to the slaughterhouse.  The presentation has been shown in academic settings, as well as to general audiences.
